Keeping It Cool in the Neighborhood

One way to prevent those needless injuries is a new idea: community resilience centers.

We like to think of them as places that can withstand the shocks and stressors of extreme heat. When all else fails—these places don’t! Unlike cooling centers, where few people go, community resilience centers would be designed by and for the communities that need help most.

Thanks to funding by the Strategic Growth Council (SGC), $270 million dollars will soon become available to plan and develop community resilience centers.

Before the SGC can roll out the program, they’d like to hear from you!
