Energy Efficient Design and Control of Chilled Water Plants- Two-Part Program

This 1st class will provide detailed design techniques for designing chilled water plants that minimize life cycle costs. Students will learn how to select the best distribution system for a given application, how to size piping using life cycle costs, how to select pumps, chillers, and cooling towers using value-based bids, and how to optimize control sequences based on the latest ASHRAE research. The second class is a hands-on workshop applying the lessons of the first class to a real chilled water plant.

 Date: October 5, 2021

Time: 9:00AM- 4:30PM

This class is the 2nd of a two-part program.  It will provide hands-on training on chilled water plant design using the fundamentals learned in the 1st class.  Students will design a real-life chiller plant including distribution system selection, pipe sizing, chiller and cooling tower design criteria and selection, pump head calculation and pump selection, and specifying control sequences.
