LA County is receiving a Green California Leadership Award in the Green Economic Development category in recognition of its work with EC Los Angeles.
The award is being given by California-based Green Technology, a nonprofit initiative that informs government sustainability efforts and provides a forum for government-private sector communication about development and distribution of green technologies.
The award recognizes ECC’s:
E-Contractor Academy, which prepares small, minority, women and veteran contractors to perform energy and water efficiency retrofit and other green infrastructure projects;
Alignment of workforce development resources and training for diverse workers; and
Key role in achieving a local worker hiring goal of 30 percent on county energy efficiency projects.
The award will be presented at Green Technology’s Green California Summit in Sacramento on April 7.
